On October 5th, the DTNET project held its final face-to-face Transnational Project Meeting at Umeå University. This gathering was a crucial juncture as partners from Sweden, Austria, Germany, and Latvia congregated to reflect on the project’s progress. Together, we revisited our theoretical deliverables and deliberated over refinements for the digital aspects, with particular focus on the demo app.
The consensus among partners was that the project readiness is commendably high. However, acknowledging the importance of continuous improvement, certain areas were identified for revision. With the project’s completion date set for October 31, the upcoming weeks will see partners busy with report compilation and the final tweaks to the digital components.
One significant milestone discussed during the meeting was the prospective integration of the digital project elements into the curriculum of P.Stradins Medical College at the University of Latvia.
Fast-forwarding to October 6th, the Umeå University Faculty of Medicine was buzzing with excitement as the DTNET App was presented to its faculty and students. Beyond the app’s technicalities, attendees were introduced to its foundational didactic concept grounded in the Cognitive Apprenticeship approach. This pivotal element of the project was a collaborative effort of partners from the University of Medical Science, Information and Technology (UMIT) in Tirol, Austria, and Weingarden University of Education in Germany.
Over 30 participants, including medical faculty students and teachers, engaged in the hands-on session, providing insightful feedback. The overall sentiment was positive, with students in particular highlighting the app’s significant potential and value for their educational journey.
Furthermore, during this gathering, INTAMT unveiled its upcoming plans rooted in the successes of the DTNET and the ongoing DRFLEMP projects, both backed by ERASMUS+. In 2023, the introduction of the XRMEDU brand marked a new chapter. Operating under this brand, the spin-off entity, INTAMT DTFED, is set to craft digital training tools tailored for medical professionals. What sets XRMEDU apart is its dual training approach: honing professional medical skills while facilitating foreign language acquisition. Given the pressing need for medical professionals across Europe, especially in Germany, this accelerated training tool is poised to address this gap timely.
